Our policy on cancellations, refunds, and billing for our services

1. Overview

Complir.ai provides a subscription-based AI-powered legal assistant platform. Because our Service is delivered digitally, traditional "return" policies do not apply in the same way as physical goods.

This Return & Refund Policy describes the circumstances under which you may be eligible for a refund or credit, and how to request one. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws.

This policy should be read together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA & UK Consumers)
EU/EEA/UK

If you are a consumer in the European Union, European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you have a mandatory 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and equivalent national legislation (including the Polish Civil Code, Art. 385¹–385³).

  • Withdrawal Period: You may withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of the date you entered into the contract (i.e., the date of purchase or renewal), without giving any reason.
  • How to Withdraw: To exercise this right, send a clear statement to support@complir.ai indicating your decision to withdraw. You may use any unambiguous written statement.
  • Refund on Withdrawal: We will reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay, and in any event no later than 14 days from the day we are informed of your decision to withdraw. Reimbursement will be made using the same means of payment you used for the original transaction.
  • Prorated Charges: If you requested that the Service begin during the withdrawal period and you subsequently withdraw, you may be charged a proportionate amount for the service provided up to the point you communicated your withdrawal.

This right applies to each new subscription period (monthly or annual). It is a statutory right that cannot be waived or restricted.

3. Subscription Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us at support@complir.ai.

  • Monthly Plans: Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current monthly billing period. You will retain access to the Service until that date.
  • Annual Plans: If you cancel an annual subscription, you will receive a prorated refund for the remaining full months of your subscription, unless you have exercised your right of withdrawal (Section 2) which provides a full refund within 14 days.
  • Data Retention: After cancellation, your data will be retained for 30 days in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may request earlier deletion by contacting dpo@complir.ai.
4. Refund Eligibility

Beyond the statutory withdrawal right (Section 2), you may also be eligible for a refund in the following circumstances:

  • Service Outage: If the Service is unavailable for more than 72 consecutive hours due to issues on our end, you may request a prorated credit or refund for the affected period.
  • Billing Errors: If you were charged incorrectly (e.g., duplicate charges, wrong plan amount), we will refund the overcharged amount promptly.
  • Renewal Refunds: If your subscription renewed automatically and you request a refund within 72 hours of the renewal charge, we will issue a full refund for that renewal period, provided you have not actively used the Service during that period. Only one such refund may be granted per account within any 6-month period.
5. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please contact us at support@complir.ai with the following information:

  • Your account email address
  • The date and amount of the charge in question
  • The reason for your refund request

Processing Time: We aim to review and respond to refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds will be issued to your original payment method within 14 days.

Refund Method: Refunds are processed to the original payment method used for the transaction. If this is not possible, we will work with you to find an alternative.

6. Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally not eligible for refunds, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise:

  • Add-On Services: One-time purchases or add-on services that have already been fully delivered or consumed
  • Setup or Configuration Fees: One-time fees for account setup or custom configurations that have been completed
  • Previous Refund: Renewal charges where a refund has already been granted on the same account within the previous 6 months (excluding statutory withdrawal rights)

For the avoidance of doubt, none of these exclusions limit your statutory right of withdrawal under Section 2.

7. Free Trials

If we offer a free trial period:

  • You will not be charged during the free trial
  • You may cancel at any time before the trial ends to avoid being charged
  • If you do not cancel before the trial expires, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid plan at the applicable rate
  • We will send a reminder notification at least 3 days before the trial period ends
  • If your trial converts to a paid subscription, you retain your full statutory withdrawal rights (Section 2) from the date of the first charge
8. Charge Disputes

If you believe a charge is unauthorized or incorrect, please contact us at support@complir.ai. We are committed to resolving billing issues quickly and fairly.

We encourage you to reach out to us before filing a dispute with your payment provider, as we can often resolve the issue faster directly. However, contacting us first is not a precondition for exercising any of your rights under applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Return & Refund Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

  • Posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last Updated" date
  • Sending an email notification to your registered email address at least 14 days before the changes take effect

If you do not agree with the updated policy, you may cancel your subscription before the changes take effect and receive a prorated refund for any prepaid period. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
